"Across
the Causeway" Concert Raised $355,555

On September 12, 2004, Across
the Causeway, a benefit concert held at the Royal Military
College of Canada featuring The Tragically Hip and many
of their friends raised $355,555 for the Kingston community.
The charities that will benefit from this huge success include
the Community Foundation of Greater Kingston, the Joe Chithalen
Musical Instrument Lending Library and Camp Trillium.
Ticketmaster reported sales
of 17,488 tickets. An additional 215 volunteers and over
400 performers, stage crew and staff worked at the concert
site, making total attendance for the day over 18,000!
The Community Foundation of
Greater Kingston would like to thank the performers who
donated their time, including The Tragically Hip with special
guests Mathew Good, The Hugh Dillion Redemption Choir, The
Trews, The Sadies, James McKenty & The Spades, Chris
Koster and host Dan Aykroyd.
Thank you also to The House
of Blues Concerts Canada, the numerous community groups,
organizations and volunteers who contributed to ensuring
the success of this exciting day.

Greater Kingston, a locally run public foundation, connects
donors with organizations that are committed to strengthening
