The Community Foundation of Greater Kingston has a number of funds from which it makes grants to support projects and organizations within the Greater Kingston area and some of our geographic neighbours.

Community Grants

Community Grants are generated from the investment income formed by the Foundation's Community Funds and many other endowed funds. Awarded by the Foundation's Grant Selection Team, grants serve registered charities in all eight sectors in Kingston.

The Stark Family Fund

This fund, established by a $1.3 million bequest from Ruth Stark of The Stark Family of Bloomfield Ontario, supports a broad spectrum of initatives within Prince Edward County, particularly in the Village of Bloomfield.

YAC Corus Entertainment Youth in the Arts Fund

Supported by an annual flow-though donation to our Youth Advisory Committee, this fund provides grants to youth-driven projects that directly involve and immerse children and youth in the arts, especially music.

YAC Kickstart! Mini-Grants Program

This innovative mini-grants program, launched in 2003, supports elementary school initiatives with grants of no more than $300. Projects range in size, but all are designed to teach participants about community, charity, philanthropy and legacy.

Nan Yeoman's Grant for Artistic Development Program

This annual grant totaling $2,500 aims to help promising young artists and/or artisans in furthering their education and professional artistic growth, and will be awarded by a peer jury to one successful applicant based on the artistic merit of his or her work and previous accomplishments, and the eligibility of the proposal.

Fast Track Grants Program

From time to time, special projects develop at local organizations at short notice. To assist, the Community Foundation can process requests for immediate grants in all areas of interest of the Foundation.
