Individuals
and businesses alike are discovering the many ways of donating
to the Community Foundation and the many benefits gifts
can make to the community. The Foundation offers a number
of different options in making a gift to strengthen and
enhance the quality of life in the Greater Kingston area
and beyond.
The most immediate way of
donating to the Foundation is with donations of cash, cheque
or credit card. Many of our donors find this route appealing
as the funds are invested immediately to begin accruing
interest and the donor receives tax savings on his/her next
return.
To donate by cheque:
Payable to The Community Foundation of Greater Kingston,
please mail or drop off cheques to:
The Community Foundation of Greater Kingston
165 Ontario Street
Kingston ON K7L 2Y6
If you wish to make a donation to a particular fund, please
specify by writing the name in the 'Memo' line of the cheque.
To donate by credit card:
Donations by Visa, Mastercard and American Express can be
made by telephone at 613.546.9696 or online by clicking
here. You may also stop in
at the Community Foundation office at 165 Ontario Street
and one of our friendly staff members will assist you. For
directions, click here.
A number of our donors have
decided to leave a gift to the Foundation through a bequest,
which is a donation noted in a Will. Often these gifts are
specified dollar amounts or percentages of the residue.
The Foundation receives the donation upon the death of the
donor. If you are considering leaving a legacy to the Community
Foundation of Greater Kingston in this way, please contact
Executive Director Glenn Stresman at 613.546.9696 to discuss
your gift.
Another way of benefiting
the community through the Foundation is with a gift of Life
Insurance. This method is useful to donors who are interested
in leaving a significant gift in an economical cost to them.
Benefactors can donate an existing policy to or purchase
a new one for the Community Foundation; or keep ownership
and name the Foundation as a beneficiary. Please contact
our Executive Director, Glenn Stresman at 613.546.9696 or
your Professional Advisor to get some assistance in deciding
which option is best for you and your family.
One of the
most cost-effective ways donors can make a gift to the Foundation
is through the transferring of bonds, shares, warrants and
options listed on a prescribed stock exchange; mutual fund
shares/units and segregated fund units; and / or prescribed
debt obligations. Interested? Contact or have your Professional
Advisor contact Glenn Stresman, the Community Foundation's
Executive Director, at 613.546.9696.
